South Sudan prisons in shocking state
Posted by admin on Dec 26, 2011 in South Sudan | 17 commentswww.ntv.co.ke Southern Sudan is facing major challenges of adequately catering for the basic needs of prisoners. The prisons are congested and the authorities lack the capacity to cater for an equally large number of new inmates.

chains!? really come on,though in jail, these are human souls right here.
@angangaus : Yes it is very sad watching the pathetic surroundings they have to live in. I confess I stopped the video every time I am typing. Northern America jails look glamorous compared to this….u right that these prisoners will come out a bitter lot and in a foul vengeful mood!
@siasabora i sadly agree but something about how it looked in this video makes it just too inhumane.its society but that doesnt mean i should agree with it.
@angangaus: today in modern courtrooms and prisons I witness convicts hands handcuffed way back, chains around the belly, both feet chained, put on a long leash and locked for 23 hours a day …..and nobody raised slavery issues!
prison is where criminals pay back for breaking the law…not a convent
@siasabora what does this have to do with serving time?. putting chains on a human being in this day and age?? that was the hallmark of slavery. and lets not use this porr people to make ourselves feel any better. lets hope those chains come off and dissapear into some dark past.
@Okolotube: criminals are criminals…age, race or nationality does not matter…do crime do time…a universally accepted norm.
@erastusmovies: aha and what difference would that make, sir? u right none….they all end up in this quarters:)
Woi, are they human beings? Reminds me of stories of slavery..
@siasabora How do you know for sure they are criminals? and not lets say political prisoners?
Do a story on Kenyan prisons for comparison, lets see how much better they are 50 years after independence…
I’m surprised they have beds to sleep on.
@siasabora Hahahahaha!
Republic of South Sudan just got their freedom…and these criminals never gave the gov’t a grace period to construct them a 5 star jail…..too bad.
Ngai! Are those human beings? smh!
Pictures from hell,is their justice system in south sudan, locking people with chains brings back the slavery memories
@wholelover am with you on that!!
I’ve officially stopped complaining about my life. Aiyaiyai
